The yellow-tailed woolly monkey is affected by gold mining

Primates are under threat in Africa, Asia and South America due to gold mining activity. Those affected include the Bornean orangutan and the yellow-tailed woolly monkey. As well as harming wildlife, the use of mercury in gold extraction is damaging to the environment and human health.
