1988: Dr Shirley McGreal given the Jeanne Marchig Award ‘in recognition of her relentless fight to protect primates throughout the world’.
1992: Dr Shirley McGreal chosen for the United Nations Environment Programme Global 500 Honour Roll.
1994: IPPL given Dutch Police League/Interpol award in recognition of investigative work on an orangutan smuggling case.
1999: Cyril Rosen appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours ‘for services to the UK’s International Primate Protection League’.
2007: Cyril Rosen awarded the Conservation Medal from the Primate Society of Great Britain (PSGB).
2008: Dr Shirley McGreal appointed an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours ‘for services to the protection of primates’.
2008: Dr Shirley McGreal bestowed with the first Caroline Earle White Award, given ‘to honour those who carry her same determination, drive, and success in advocating for animals.’
2011: IPPL (UK) ‘highly commended’ as a finalist at the Charity Awards, which recognise and celebrate ‘excellence in the leadership and management of charities.’
